Extensive Experience in Immigration and Border Security

Sanjeev Verma has over 32 years of operational experience in various officer and management

roles, both domestically and internationally, representing the Government of Canada. This

extensive background provides him with a wealth of knowledge to share as a trainer in

immigration and border security matters.

Training and Mentoring Roles

• As a Mentor and senior advisor to the oldest business incubators in GTA, The Toronto Business Development Center (TBDC) and BHive in Brampton, Sanjeev plays an integral part in coaching and mentoring Foreign Entrepreneurs to successfully establish in Canada under the Startup Visa Program.
• While he served as the International Liaison Officer for CBSA, Sanjeev developed and delivered training to foreign law enforcement officers and airline personnel on Canadian Immigration and customs regulations, investigative & interview techniques and document examination.
• As a Senior Migration Officer at the High Commission of Canada in New Delhi, and Canadian Embassy in Beijing, China, Sanjeev managed and trained locally engaged staff and officers under the Foreign Service Developmental Program.
• Sanjeev has conducted outreach activities with Canadian and international educational

institutes, agents, and recruiters, which demonstrates his ability to communicate and

train diverse groups.

• In his management role at Pearson International Airport, he was responsible for the development and mentoring of staff, providing expertise and guidance on complex cases related to immigration and customs legislation.

Sanjeev was a certified trainer for CBSA and helped develop training courses and delivered

training to new Border Services Officers. He provided ongoing coaching and mentoring while in

Supervisory roles.
