Dear Prospective RCICs,
As you progress through the CICC membership process following your successful completion of the Entry-to-Practice Exam (EPE), one of the final evaluation stages involves a review of Good Character and Good Conduct.
During this review, it is possible that the College may identify individuals with the same or similar names who have engaged in unauthorized immigration consulting activities in contravention of section 91 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA). Please do not be alarmed if such a case arises; the CICC may contact you to request clarification or further information to ensure that you are not implicated in any misconduct and that you meet the standards required for membership.
This is a standard part of the CICC’s due diligence process, and their commitment to upholding the integrity of the profession should be commended. There is no cause for concern unless there is a legitimate issue. If you are confident that you have acted appropriately and within the bounds of the law, a clear and honest explanation will generally suffice.
You are welcome to refer to the sample response provided below, should you find it helpful. If you require professional assistance in drafting or reviewing your response, please do not hesitate to contact us at: support@immimentor.ca.
We wish you every success in your licensing journey.
Sincerely,
ImmiMentor Support Team

Subject: Clarification Regarding Identity Confusion with an Unauthorized Immigration Service Provider
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to respectfully address a matter of concern that may have led to an incorrect assumption regarding my involvement in unauthorized immigration services.
It has come to my attention that an individual bearing the same name as mine is reportedly engaged in providing immigration services without proper authorization. I would like to categorically state that I am not associated with this person/entity in any capacity, nor have I ever offered, advertised, or engaged in any immigration-related services, whether for compensation or otherwise.
To clarify:
- My full legal name is [Your Full Name], born on [Your Date of Birth], and I currently reside at [Your Full Address]. Evidence attached.
- I am not a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC), and I have never represented myself as such.
- I am currently employed as a [Your Job Title, organization name] in City, Province, Country. Job reference letter attached. (**Letter samples are shared below)
- My living and working history for the past XX years is attached here as a separate sheet.
- I have no professional or personal connection to the individual in question and have never been involved in any immigration consulting or advising activities.
Should you require, I am willing to provide identification documents, or any other verification needed to further clarify this matter. I respectfully request that CICC update or correct any record that may have wrongly linked me to this case.
Thank you for your attention to this issue. I trust that this clarification will assist in resolving the confusion promptly. Please feel free to contact me should you need any further information.
Sincerely,
